How Not to Blog

I've become bored by my blog, which probably means my readers have too. I've become aware that I'm not really bringing anything new to the table, something that's essential to standing out. I read plenty of blogs too; some are the same old story and others have their own unique style. The latter are far more interesting to me and while I'm unsure what mine will be, but I refuse to keep churning out generic material. I see a lot of businesses fail for similar reasons, trying to compete in crowded markets - without innovating. I'm smart enough to know better.

I've been thinking about making this post for a while, alongside being undecided about editing/posting the footage I took at EPT Barcelona. While different from my usual text-only blogs, the Barcelona trip report was still not going to be anything new. Photos of delicious food and a video tour of the hotel room, you'll have seen that before from legendary poker blogger Daleroxxu. While there is no harm in following examples of successful blogs, it doesn't help me generate content that's new and interesting. I need to start innovating.

Similarly while I'm stuck grinding up a sizeable bankroll, tales about my recent poker action is less interesting than watching paint dry. Over the last few weeks while I was debating on ditching the Barcelona trip report I came up with a few ways to keep things interesting. For myself and for my readers. The next few months could be pretty hit and miss, but that's so much better than keeping on with this same old routine.

Would be a shame not to post these photos from Barcelona, after all everyone likes a little food porn:
