EPT Season 9 Barcelona
Season 9 of the European Poker Tour starts soon, and Barcelona is the first stop. This year there are fewer stops, but for longer and with more varied tournaments to choose from. Local tours are also built into the Season 9 stops. ESPT Barcelona runs just before EPT Barcelona for example. I didn't want to post about this until I knew it was a sure thing, but I'm pleased to say that I'll be heading out there for the duration of the event.
I'm very much looking forward to it, I've never been to Barcelona but I know it to be a beautiful city. The hotel I'll be staying in (above) looks awesome too! The best part about Barcelona is that between the start of the ESPT and the EPT I have a small window where I will have time to just chill out and enjoy the sights. Don't get me wrong EPT Monte Carlo earlier this year was great, but I had next to no free time to take it in.
Once I finally had confirmation of my flights, I allowed myself to take a gander at the side events. There's a pretty nice looking €300 2-day NLHE event at 1900 local time on the first Friday. There are a couple of €100 and €150 Turbos the days before, and the always awesome €100 hyper on the final day too. I'm much more inclined to play a number of these smaller events, rather than one €500-€1,000 event. Much more play/entertainment that way and a much better way to lower the variance.
I have every intention of taking some video footage while I'm out there, either for the trip report or as a number of short vLogs. If I'm able to I'll post them here on my site while I'm out there. Regardless any videos will be available on my YouTube channel. I haven't quite figured out the finer details of this, but I'm sure I'll keep you all posted on twitter. If anyone else is going to be there and wants to grab a beer or dinner etc. give me a shout!

The second series of the MicroMillions is over and despite not being profitable for me, I enjoyed it greatly. Without doubt it was made all the more interesting by the side-bet that was made. For a short summary of the series, read

I've become bored by my blog, which probably means my readers have too. I've become aware that I'm not really bringing anything new to the table, something that's essential to standing out. I read plenty of blogs too; some are the same old story and others have their own unique style. The latter are far more interesting to me and while I'm unsure what mine will be, but I refuse to keep churning out generic material. I see a lot of businesses fail for similar reasons, trying to compete in crowded markets - without innovating. I'm smart enough to know better. Read
